Ananael - potions and herb shop

Ananael was started and designed by Castiel, set in Odin district and named for one of Castiel's sisters with a word that means "secret wisdom" in Enochian. Roland's taken over the running of it since he left Asgard, but he's kept everything, for the most part, exactly the same. The door is still almost always propped open, even when the weather is cool, and it's still quiet, decorated more like a library than anything else. The floors are wooden, the walls are a soft muted beige. Wooden shelves and bookcases line the walls, the bookcases used as extra shelving but also holding several books and assorted odds and ends also for sale.
The shelves are covered in potions, organized carefully with small plaques naming them. The counter where the cash register is has a lot of free space, so people can lean and talk and get advice on the use of the potions. There are a few seating places, but the shop isn't really meant to be a gathering place, so there's no entertainment. Still, people coming to an apothecary might need somewhere to rest, and so there are a few plush chairs around as well as a few small endtables. Customers aren't allowed in the back room but the door to it will usually be open; Roland spends most of his time at the shop either in there or at the small garden behind the building, and he likes to keep an ear out for whatever's going on inside while he's there.

POTIONS
Blood Replishment
Yarrow, sweet woodruf, agrimony, featherdraw
This potion increases blood cell production in the user by prompting their natural healing processes. It works quickly, but only generates a little more blood, and only three potions max can be used per week due to potential for toxicity. It’s intended for use to help stave off shock while functioning during an emergency. Due to the risks in using featherdraw, Roland will only distribute this potion to the Medics group or to high-level damage drainers; it isn’t for open public sale.
He will, however, also sell a tea packet of this same mix of herbs but in different proportions, which is intended to be used as a normal once a day tea to encourage natural replenishing of blood. This is a slow effect. There is barely any featherdraw in this mix.
Appetite Increase
Centary, galangal root, peppermint
This potion is actually made as a tea, and will increase the user’s appetite. The effect is minor and gentle, and it’s intended for use by individuals who have no appetite due to stress, illness, or otherwise.
Stress Reduction
Lemon balm, linden, passionflower, gildiam
This potion produces a calming, sedating effect, though it doesn’t make the user sleepy. It gives a small boost in mood and hopefulness. It does dampen the user's reflexes and senses, so it shouldn’t be taken unless one has time and opportunity to relax. It’s intended to use to calm someone who is very upset or worried, and let them have a chance to focus on doing something relaxing, such as reading.
Sleeping
Lavender, sweet marjoram, avor root
This sleep potion is extremely gentle, and will not ensure dreamlessness. In fact, it won’t keep the user asleep either, it simply helps quiet the mind and nudges the user into sleep but doesn’t maintain it. For this reason, dreaming still happens, and the user can wake up easily if physically shaken or even just startled by loud noises.
Wakefulness
Peppermint, eleuthero, cacao, trindaca
This potion works like an energy drink, waking the user up with a caffeine-like effect. It lasts for about three hours, then wears off. Only one is to be used a day; more than that can cause anxiety or, in some cases, paranoia.
Time Slow
Chickory, periwinkle, gotu kala, iffany bloom
This potion slows perception of time by letting the user lay down additional memory. This lasts about ten ‘real’ seconds, giving the user the perception of about thirty seconds. It doesn’t enhance their actual memory, and they can still forget what they see while under the effect. It also doesn’t increase their speed of action.
MISC
Mood Enhancement
Rose, lavender, sandalwood, gildam
This is an essential oil, used as a perfume, added to baths, to scent pillows, etc. It causes relaxation and a small boost in mood, similar to the anti-anxiety potion but less powerful and with no effect on reflexes.
PLANTS/HERBS
There're even a couple of tea kettles and strainers nearby, with paper hanging on the shelf in front of each tin that details how to brew each type of herb. Roland wants to make this simple for you guys. Really simple. Like, painfully simple. You do know how tea works, don't you?
Featherdraw
Plant with feathery-looking white flowers. Boosts regeneration of blood cells, but too large doses can cause rupture of blood vessels and internal bleeding. Highly regulated. This will only be sold to other herbalists.
Strovim root
Powdered and used to flush toxins from the body. If overused, it will bind and collect toxins instead.
Trindaca
Stimulant similar to caffeine; powerful but doesn’t last long. Side effects of overuse include agitation, nervousness, and paranoia.
Gildiam
Golden-colored flowers with a sweet smell and taste. Prompts release of endorphins and increases mood.
Iffany bloom
Greyish, unimpressive looking bud. Used to enhance senses temporarily.
Avor root
Used for sleep. Less powerful alternative to vendelthorn.
Chamomile
Used for sleep and digestion.
Fennel
Used for digestion. Most often mixed with Chamomile.
